APD - Shipping Articles (CG 705)
The APD - Shipping Articles workbook maintains and prints a full or partial set of the Shipping Articles (CG 705) for US Mariners. The file is linked to the APD master data file. Personnel information is automatically displayed in designated locations through use of the Article #. Very little setup needs to be done in preparing the voyage Shipping Articles. Managing the Shipping Articles is easy. The program is designed to allow for a full or partial set of Articles to be printed. An easy to use Add-On feature is allows add-ons to be entered on any page and in specific locations. Personnel Data Personnel information is automatically linked to the master APD data file. Voyage Start The Setup page holds the vessel particulars, master's name, voyage information that will be displayed on the Face Page for the Shipping Articles. The actual Sign-On date of the Voyage for each individual is entered on the master APD data file. Only one date need be entered for the default Start Date. Individual override sign-on dates can be entered for individuals signing on after the default voyage start. This information is linked automatically to the Shipping Articles. Passage Setup The Setup page maintains the vessel particulars information that is required for display on the Face Page of the Shipping Articles. The voyage description is also entered on this page Articles Face Page Information on the Face Page is linked to the Setup page. |
Article pages The APD-Shipping Articles module uses 5 pages for automatic linking to the master APD data file. The Articles are printed on Legal size paper in landscape mode providing 55 line entries for crew changes. A blank Articles page is available for use if a voyage reguires more pages to be used. Quick toggle selectors are provided for each Article line which allows for Add-ons later in the voyage. Add-Ons - Articles Printing Add-ons to the existing Shipping Articles is easy! A matching Add-ons page automatically links to the master APD data file. Individuals can be displayed quickly with just a click on the desired line location. Additionally, crew members can be displayed on any line. This is very useful when signing on replacement crew members at the end of the Articles. Particulars of Discharge - (POD) The Particulars of Discharge section for the APD - Shipping Articles is the one item that must have information entered manually. The POD lists the date location of discharge for each crew member signed on the voyage articles, wages earned and paid, length of service and reason. The POD can be used for full or partial crew printings at voyage end, or as a supplemental page for individuals sign-off articles during a voyage. POD Add - Ons Add-ons are just as easy. Instead of entering the discharge information on the main POD page, the information is entered on the corresponding POD Add-on page.
